Hey everybody,

Your humble GC curator, Kiel MagicMouse is back on the horn.  We would like to give the Wordsmith Mike Billeter a gigantic "Thank You" from everyone here at the GC desk and FP Headquarters.  So thank you.  Everything is awesome.  We've had a surge of page visits the likes of which we haven't seen since the Foldness.  So thank you.

And it's not done yet!

We got two more things.  First up is my contribution.  I've been working with a good friend on developing a comic series and here's some concept art.  I'm contractually obligated not to say anything about the story, except that it's called "Coins".  I've been playing with actually inking some strips and it's hecka tough.  Here's those results:

The second thing we have for you is some Fresh Friday podcasts for you dealing with Free Comic Book Day.  We're going to post last years, where I got to interview a Lucas-certified Stormtrooper named Breeze, and we're going to post this years, where my lady friend and I got to talk to 11 year old up and coming comic book artist, Colin.  He is awesome.  He writes Chickenman.

We have no idea when those'll go up.  You'll have to tune in every 15 minutes or so until we post 'em.

AND we have some huge news next week.  Like giganto news.  It'll be the biggest news we've ever had.  Bigger then the Foldness and Graphic Comic week combined!  No joke.  This change will affect your lives.

The hardest job of all? Doing nothing...

Well folks, it appears Graphic Comic is coming to an end. Fortunately, we get to end on a submission that I absolutely enjoyed. Hopefully you've taken some time to see some of the earlier submissions from the week, and if you haven't, I definitely recommend you give them a look.

Moving on to today's work... It comes from real-life, bonafide comic artist Will Dinski, and I have to say that I find it hilarious. I'll explain why I enjoy it so much after I give you readers a chance to enjoy it yourselves, without any influence from me.

The name of the file I received simply said "Sloth," (hopefully that's not the wrong name) so here it is (and don't forget to click it if you want to enlarge it):

 

So much work of sitting through the phone's obnoxious ringing, all to be left unrewarded with no message anyway. The irony is just too perfect. Anything I say beyond that will probably just ruin the strip, so I'll go ahead and leave it at that.

Thanks for the awesome submission, Will. It was a great way to finish out the week and end Graphic Comic on a positive and enjoyable note.

So, with Graphic Comic drawing to a close, I'd just like to thank everyone who submitted content for this week's posts. You made my job so much easier by having top-notch work to write about, so I appreciate you helping me sound like I know what I'm talking writing about.

And another huge thanks goes out to everyone that stopped in this week and checked out the posts. Whether you read one or read them all, I had a blast, I appreciate it a ton, and hope you enjoyed it a little bit too.

Finally, thanks to Kiel for letting me captain this ship for the week. I look forward to what you and the rest of the creatives in this region have to share with us in the future.

Is Juniper one of...The Suckered?

Continuing in the mysterious vein of Oku - The Octoprogrammer (not his official title), Holli Rausch has submitted a fantastic addition to what appears to be an enigmatic cast of characters.

So, for your viewing pleasure, Holli Rausch, in association with Graphic Comic, presents...Juniper:

 

And, as was the case with Oku, here's the fantastic description as included by Holli:

"What does a girl with all the ambition in the world, but none of the talent, do with her life? In the case of Juniper Cypress, you join Human Resources at the largest software development company in the country. Perhaps an uninspired choice, but she doesn’t have much for talent. One thing she is good at is reading people, and Oku is an encyclopedia. Will Juniper get a chance to be a part of something ambitious? Will she finally find happiness in Octal Industries? Or is she one of The Suckered?"

I love the many looks of Juniper. She's just so cheery and pleasant-looking. For being someone with little talent, I have a feeling she'll be involved in some awesome and entertaining endeavors. I can't wait to see what the Rausches (Rausch's?...still wondering...) have in store for us with The Suckered. These mysterious descriptions have certainly gotten me hooked, and I'm excited to see more from them in the future.
