Regular GC visitors will remember that a few weeks ago the FP Headquarters sounded out a Red Rocket Alert Stage. We only initiate the Red Rocket Alert Stage during the most intense of times, during which we experience extreme productivity, massive amounts of work, and general madness. During this most recent RRAS, we helped the Washington Pavilion launch next year's Husby Series. So upon an unknowing SxFs, "Upstage Reality" was released.
Here's a massive "making of" for the campaign's illustrations as seen in "The Script":
Initial sketchin's-
Figure study and ink studies-
Yee-haw for scanning in real ink brush strokes!
Earlier computer work-
Initial brochure spread (a little too reminiscent of another local performing arts venue...)
Final cover in all it's embossed glory-
Final inside spread-
This is only one facet of our Upstage campaign. For more info check out
www.upstagereality.com and keep your eyes peeled for instances of Upstaging...
The team included copywriter mavericks, Quinn Kathner & Ted Heeren; an account exec the likes of which SxFs has never seen before, Jim Speirs; the steady drum of the "Hammer", Jessica Rice; our own digital Johnny Appleseed, John "F. Produce" Meyer; and the doodlin' musings of your humble GC Curator, Kiel Mutschelknaus. And perhaps the biggest player in this project, the client that said "Yes", the Washington Pavilion and it's astonishing Marketing Dept.
