It's All Coins

Today's banner is brought to you straight from a page in my sketchbook.  It's a top secret project me and a friend are working on.  And it's also a hint for some brand new action coming to you next week.  After the crazy success of our two week Foldness extravaganza, we're going to be launching a new theme next week.  It also has to do with May 2nd.  If you know what it is, don't say it.  We'll nix your comment so fast your head'll spin with a "whizz" caption over top... whoop, we've said too much.

We got some great stuff this week.  We got word from the unfathomable MysterySock, we got some new  work from the FP Headquarters, and we have an absolute buttload of stuff to show from a new contributor.

So stay tuned.

All Float On Anyway OK

Last week we had a ton of fires here at the GC desk. The fires are put out, the files are off to the printers, and it's time to party.  Let's start the party this week with a new banner. 

The first thing you need to know about our new banner is that it's sexy as hell.

Let's rock and roll this week, gawkers.  We want to see submissions, we want to see awesomeness, and we want to see a tad of glamour.

Roads? We Don't Need No...

We're at it again.

We got a great week lined up for you here. We're here with a new banner but still have all that same great local art taste you've come to expect from Graphic Content.

Do you do anything visual? We want to see it. For real. If you're an artist that is close to the extreme south-east SD and do anything visual, we want you to send us some jpegs for us to post. That's how GC works. So let's make it work.

This week we've got some Eva Hofer, some great local illo's via 605 Mag, a great FP Headquarter's chalkboard drawing from Isaac Reichenbach himself, and a Mystery (TT?).

Warning: Excessive Vector in Today's Banner

As if that's something new-

Anyway. We're going to try something a little different this week.  This week we're going with a theme.  Inspired by a wonderful piece I got from one Brian Hauge a few days ago, this week, March 23rd to the 27th, shall be Paper Craft Week (we got no copywriters here on the GC staff, so that's as clever as we're going to get).  This week we've got Idea Helmet Paper Craft, FP Staff Paper Craft, Robot Paper Craft, and maybe a panda!  And, haven't a clue how this would work, but we might let make your very own Paper Crafts.

Have no idea what we're talking about with this "Paper Craft"? I guess you'll just have to tune in tomorrow...

Everything is Awesome

A huge, gigantic shout out of "thanks" to all of you that made the Ipso Opening/FP Open House a resounding success.  We thought we had 200-300 people passing by throughout the night... yet somehow we put away 8 cases of beer and over a dozen bottles of wine.  So either all of you are crazy drinkers, or we had many more people then we thought.  And our estimated ending time of 8.00 pm was shattered and the merriment went well into the 10.00 hour.

Anyway... Thank you, thank you, thank you.  This will definitely be happening again.  Some of your fav contributors made appearances (B. Hauge, H. Rausch, C. Medema, A. Osborn, A. Brynjulson, and several others) and we finally got to meet some of our virtual friends.

And now we here at Graphic Content can finally get back to the business at hand.  Local art.  We're placing Ipso coverage on hold until our next opening (keep your eyes open in 4 months...) and we're returning to what makes GC great: your submissions.  We got a packed week full of local arts including some Holli Rausch (times 2), some David Sieh (in case you missed his show), some 605 Mag action, some from myself, and one of our "Mystery Abounds" submissions will finally be revealed (maybe next week...?)
